Hawaii Society of Pain Physicians - Membership
Applicants whose membership applications have been approved by the Board of Directors and whose dues or other assessments have been paid to the Society in accordance with the Bylaws shall be active members in good standing.
The Hawaii Society of Pain physicians is open to physicians who possess a United States or Canadian degree of doctor of medicine (MD), doctor of Osteopathic medicine (DO), or a recognized International equivalent with a sustained interest in pain disorders and their management.
Members are board certified in their medical specialty which may include Neurology, Neurosurgery, Anesthesiology, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, Rheumatology, Psychiatry or Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Members have also completed a Medical Residency that has a component of Pain Management in its training. It includes but, is not limited to Physicial Medicine & Rehabilitation, Neurology, Pallative Care, Anesthesiology, Sports Medicine or Psychiatry.
Members may have also completed additional training including a fellowship in Pain Medicine, Sports Medicine, or Interventional pain, are board certified in pain by the American Board of Medical Specialites in Pain Management, or have additional training or education in the area of pan medicine.
